Since taking up the position of Academy Director three years ago I have identified the area of Sports Psychology as being critical in supporting

the mental approach to the player's game and lifestyle.

Coinciding with my appointment was that of James Beale from Total Performance Consulting to work with our Academy. This relationship has shown

excellent improvements in enhancing the individual and squads views on Team Ethos, Imagery and Observation plus, helping the player become a

more rounded and confident person at the end of their contracts or onto the professional staff.

I have James Beale to thank for opening my mind to the possibility of a career in sport psychology. He encouraged me to link my previous experiences in dance with my desire to pursue a career in psychology by following the BASES Supervised Experience programme towards full accreditation as a sport psychologist with Total Performance.

The Total Performance BASES SE programme consists of informative, practical and extremely well run group workshops that are designed to guide practitioners through the BASES accreditation process. James provides a trusting and open forum through which all experiences can be openly discussed. In addition I have found James to be a supportive, knowledgeable supervisor who continually keeps me motivated and who is always available to discuss ongoing matters.
