PERFORMANCE BASES SUPERVISED EXPERIENCE TRAINING PROGRAMME
SPORT
PSYCHOLOGY TRAINING/SUPERVISED EXPERIENCE
Total
Performance offers a specialised Humanistic GESTALT framework over three
years to gain BASES Supervised Experience and BASES Psychology Support
Accreditation. The course programme has been developed so there is a
gradual increase in awareness and development of the practitioner/trainee
sport psychologist over three years and concomitant levels of being
an effective and proficient sport psychologist. Sport Psychology trainee’s
are encouraged to gain as much experience in the applied field as possible
to learn experientially with mentoring and supervisor monitoring and
assistance.
The
Supervised Experience programme run by Total Performance offers a multi
method approach covering:
-
Humanistic
counselling techniques and approaches/Person Centred therapy/PCT;
-
Gestalt
approaches/counselling techniques/frameworks;
-
Cognitive
Behavioural Therapy (CBT);
-
Neuro-Linguistic
Programming (NLP) and Social psychology.
The
underlying framework of Gestalt /Humanistic based approaches is a necessary
part of the supervised experienced programme and process of self-development
and becoming an effective practitioner and sport psychologist, is the
requirement for self-development and understanding the ‘self ‘
as a practitioner *. Thus, we at Total Performance state that a pre-requisite
to be an accredited Sport Psychologist, is completing a recognised Humanistic
counselling course/and or Gestalt counselling course. The programme leaders
offer suggestions and information regarding which counselling course would
be best suited for each individual.
How?
The programme is designed so that Supervised Experience students are
provided with EIGHT-day workshops (September –May excluding December).
In addition, students receive individual coaching and guidance/ one-to-one
tuition/coaching.
